Privacy and email preferences

This notice explains the information used by SkillsToSecure’s resource, newsletter and course-interest forms.

What the forms collect

We use the email address you provide, and your first name where requested, to respond to your request. Newsletter records include the signup location, consent wording and version, request and confirmation times, subscription status and unsubscribe history. These records help us distinguish a resource request from permission to send marketing.

Resource requests and marketing are separate

Requesting the Starter Kit does not require a newsletter subscription. Its optional newsletter box is unchecked. Newsletter subscriptions use a separate confirmation step. Course-interest requests ask for course-related updates.

Email and storage services

SkillsToSecure uses Resend for email delivery and email preferences. The newsletter system uses a protected database for consent, drafts and delivery jobs. Service providers may process information outside Australia. Access to subscriber records is restricted to authorised administration.

Measurement

Subscription and delivery records support operational reporting. When form-view measurement is enabled, it counts views by signup location without a cross-site tracking cookie. It respects browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals for those optional view events. A short-lived keyed hash of a request’s network address is used for abuse limits. Email delivery, failures and clicks may be reported by the email provider where configured. Email opens are not treated as reliable evidence that someone read a message.

Unsubscribe and privacy requests

Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops queued newsletter and welcome messages; it does not automatically erase records needed to maintain an opt-out or document consent. Contact skillstosecure@gmail.com to ask about information held about you, request a correction or discuss deletion. Do not email passwords or sensitive documents.
